Privacy Policy

Effective 29 September 2026

Your spiritual journey is personal. Tattvamasi is built on that principle, and this policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

This policy is issued by CognidaX LLP ("we", "us"), which is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data processed through the Tattvamasi mobile application and website.

1. What we collect and why

If you create an account

If you use the app as a guest

You can use Tattvamasi without an account. In guest mode we do not collect your name, contact details or birth details. Your preferences and progress are stored on your device and are lost if you uninstall the app.

Collected either way

2. What we never do

3. Consent

We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you create your account and when you switch on individual features. Consent is requested separately for optional features, such as Jyotish, that require additional personal data.

You can withdraw consent at any time. Turn off notifications under Me → Notifications, remove your birth details under Me → Profile, or delete your account under Me → Delete my data. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal, and some features will stop working once the data they depend on is removed.

4. Service providers

We use the following providers to run the app. Each receives only the data it needs for its function.

5. Transfers outside India

Some of the providers listed above process data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we transfer your personal data only as permitted under Section 16 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we require our providers to apply appropriate security safeguards.

6. Security

We protect your data using encryption in transit, encryption at rest for stored personal data, access controls that limit staff access to what is necessary, and logging of access to production systems. No system is completely secure, so we also keep the amount of data we hold to the minimum the app needs.

If a personal data breach affects your data, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India in the manner and within the timelines required by law, describing what happened, what it may mean for you, and what we are doing about it.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active.

When you delete your account from Me → Delete my data, we begin deletion immediately. Your personal data is removed from our live systems within 30 days and from encrypted backups within a further 90 days. After that we retain only what we are required by law to keep, and anonymous, non-identifying analytics that cannot be linked back to you.

If your account remains inactive for 24 months, we will contact you and then delete the account and its personal data unless you sign in.

You can also request deletion by writing to support@tattvamasi.app.

8. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

Most of these can be exercised directly in the app under the Me tab. For anything else, write to support@tattvamasi.app. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Age

Tattvamasi is for users aged 18 and above, including in guest mode. We do not knowingly provide services to, create accounts for, or collect personal data from, anyone under 18.

If we learn that we hold personal data belonging to a person under 18 without verifiable parental or guardian consent, we will delete it. If you believe this has happened, write to support@tattvamasi.app.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the app changes. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal data, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent again. The effective date at the top of this policy always reflects the current version.
